This is a tune that was 100% written for my cat "Dufus".
He was a tiny little guy when I first saw him, wearing a
tuxedo without the bow tie, and pouncing at my feet from
out of the bushes when I'd come home from a gig late at night.

Dufus loved the night, and jazz! As the sun would set in the San
Fernando Valley, he would be plotting how to be out the door by
sundown. We wouldn't see him again until the next morning,
scratching at the back door to get in, and then sleeping all day!
Every morning he would come in, ladened with car axle grease,
stinking of gasoline and other mysterious smells. Half the time I
couldn't tell if he'd been run over by something....he looked terrible!
The song really tells the whole story.
